Stories By Nigerian University Students

Rag day for me was hustling day. Yeah, it was fun and all but you'll enjoy it more when you make money and that day wasn't any different. Today on S. B. N. U. S I'll be sharing my own rag day experience in uni. Pls note that these stories are experiences of different people and if it looks anything like yours, its purely coincidental plus genders can be changed for privacy sake. And if you want to share yours, send a mail to talkwithjane01@gmail.com
** I hustled for container the night before and got ready for the next day. By 6'o clock in the morning' i could hear people already trooping out looking very funny and hyped. I immediately got ready, my dressing was quite dramatic, so i wore slipper a on one leg and a sneaker on the other. , i complimented it with a very bogus short, my top and sponge on my hair with pegs on each side, my handbag and container withdrew stones inside to make rattling sounds.....now i was ready to go.
Despite the rain, i wasn't deterred. I got to a junction and started trekking, i suck at begging so i had to go in the company of friends and as you know, that causes shortage of money, so we dispersed and i was left alone. I actually thought of going back just then, i saw my fellow students, i hurriedly joined them and benefited from them also, not long after, we separated, this one is all man to himself.
People danced for money, some coaxed while others forced you to give them money. Me, I cleaned cars lol yes i did. There was hold up aka traffic jam so i used that opportunity to clean windscreens and guess what i got... I got, thank you, some didn't even look my way while asked me for my number after i was sure that he withdrew from the ATM machine smh stingy people. One man actually used that chance to give me lectures on how i was wasting my time by joining the rag day. He said i should be reading my books, thank you sir i said and left wondering how one day will make me forget my books.
Finally, it was over, i got back to my room pretty early i heard some people travelled out of town for rag day, talk about major hustling. Me, i cannot fit to try it, well done Sir. I made over a thousand naira or so, mind you, this was years ago and it was something back then .
So there you have it my own personal rag day experience.
